Thailand Brings Sectors Together to Shape Sustainable Tourism Plan for 2028–2032
Deputy Permanent Secretary Vanida Phansoad has opened a national consultation forum to help shape the future of tourism in Thailand. The initiative will support the preparation of the Fourth National Tourism Development Plan, with a focus on competitiveness, balanced growth and sustainability. Ms Vanida Phansoad, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, officially opened the consultation workshop in Bangkok on 7 August 2026. Making hospitality a respected long-term career
Thailand’s hospitality industry offers wide-ranging opportunities for young people. However, employers now need more than traditional service skills. Students must communicate confidently, use digital systems and understand sustainable operations. They must also solve problems in real time. Practical workplace experience is therefore becoming central to effective hospitality education. A major source of jobs and opportunity Tourism remains a major part of Thailand’s economy. It directly supported 12% of national employment in 2024. It also generated 5.5% of the country’s GDP. Thailand welcomed 35.5 million international visitors during 2024. ที่ปรึกษา รมว.ท่องเที่ยวฯ เปิดศึกไอซ์สเก็ตเอเชียที่กรุงเทพฯ ชูไทยศูนย์กลางกีฬาฤดูหนาวในภูมิภาค หนุนเยาวชนก้าวสู่เวทีโลก วันที่ 4 กรกฎาคม 2569 เวลา 13.00 น. นางสาวประเมิน รักนาค ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดการแข่งขันกีฬาสเก็ตน้ำแข็งระดับเอเชีย รายการ “2026 Theater of Dream Figure Skating in Bangkok” ครั้งที่ 3 ณ สนามฮอกกี้น้ำแข็ง Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยมีคณะกรรมการจัดการแข่งขัน นักกีฬา ผู้ฝึกสอน ผู้ปกครอง และผู้มีเกียรติเข้าร่วมอย่างพร้อมเพรียง ทั้งนี้ การแข่งขันจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 4–5 กรกฎาคม 2569 นางสาวประเมิน กล่าวว่า กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาให้ความสำคัญกับการส่งเสริมกีฬาในทุกมิติ รวมถึงกีฬาฤดูหนาว ซึ่งแม้ประเทศไทยจะเป็นประเทศในเขตร้อน แต่ในช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา นักกีฬาไทยสามารถพัฒนาศักยภาพและสร้างผลงานได้อย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งในกีฬาฟิกเกอร์สเก็ต สปีดสเก็ตติ้ง และฮอกกี้น้ำแข็ง สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความมุ่งมั่นของนักกีฬา ผู้ฝึกสอน และทุกภาคส่วนที่ร่วมกันผลักดันวงการกีฬาของประเทศ ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา กล่าวว่า การแข่งขันครั้งนี้ได้รับการรับรองจาก ISI ASIA (Ice Skating Institute Asia) นับเป็นเวทีสำคัญที่เปิดโอกาสให้เยาวชนได้พัฒนาทักษะ แลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ และสร้างมิตรภาพกับนักกีฬาจากนานาประเทศ โดยปีนี้มีนักกีฬาเข้าร่วมจาก 5 ประเทศ ได้แก่ จีน มาเลเซีย อินโดนีเซีย สิงคโปร์ และประเทศไทย รวมผู้เข้าแข่งขันกว่า 300 คน ชิงชัยในกว่า 600 รายการแข่งขัน “การแข่งขันครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงเป็นเวทีแสดงศักยภาพของนักกีฬารุ่นเยาว์เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เด็กและเยาวชนหันมาออกกำลังกาย ใช้เวลาว่างให้เกิดประโยชน์ มีระเบียบวินัย รู้จักความสามัคคี และเติบโตเป็นกำลังสำคัญของประเทศในอนาคต อีกทั้งยังเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาสู่การเป็นนักกีฬาทีมชาติและการแข่งขันระดับนานาชาติในอนาคต” นางสาวประเมิน กล่าว นางสาวประเมิน กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า การเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการแข่งขันกีฬาระดับนานาชาติครั้งนี้ ยังสะท้อนศักยภาพของประเทศไทยในการรองรับการแข่งขันกีฬามาตรฐานสากล และสอดคล้องกับนโยบายของกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาในการผลักดัน Sports Tourism เพื่อใช้กิจกรรมกีฬาเป็นกลไกสร้างมูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจ กระตุ้นการเดินทางของนักกีฬา ผู้ติดตาม และนักท่องเที่ยวจากต่างประเทศ ควบคู่กับการยกระดับภาพลักษณ์ประเทศไทยให้เป็นศูนย์กลางการจัดการแข่งขันกีฬาในภูมิภาค “ประเทศไทยอาจเป็นเมืองร้อน แต่ความมุ่งมั่นและศักยภาพของเยาวชนไทยไม่มีขีดจำกัด เราพร้อมสนับสนุนให้เด็กและเยาวชนก้าวสู่เวทีระดับโลก พร้อมสร้างชื่อเสียงให้ประเทศ…
