Education Minister Details Reform Priorities

1 April 2026 – Education Minister, Prasert Chandraruangthong has outlined key reform priorities, focusing on reducing inequality, easing teachers’ workload, improving curricula, and lowering costs for families ahead of the new school term.

He said the approach reflects the direction set following his recent appointment, with reducing disparities in access to education and strengthening student support identified as core priorities.

The minister confirmed that immediate measures will address the financial burden on parents. Authorities are also preparing responses to PM2.5 pollution in northern regions, which may impact student health.

Prasert highlighted the role of technology, noting that the “Anywhere Anytime” learning programme will continue. He added that online learning may be used where appropriate to reduce travel costs, with further adjustments planned to improve effectiveness.
